Leading and riding - for softness and self control

Updated: Aug 23

Our aim when training the Ride Like a Viking way is to get a horse who is self controlling, straight and soft, from self. This video shows how to make horses straight by getting rid of magnets, such as the gate and other horses, while working on the riding signals and getting softness off our rein aid and hind leg engagement off our leg aid.

As you can see it`s not complicated but slightly different than how most riding lessons are conducted.

Getting rid of the gate magnet and inspire horses to follow the track from self, makes them softer and lighter to our riding signals.

This video is part of a course unit found in Ride Like a Viking Members showing how we retrain a Norwegian trotter. If you want to experience the joy of riding a self controlling and connected horse, join the waitlist or secure your spot on👉 www.ridelikeaviking.com/course
